The Haunting In Connecticut is based on the true story of the Snedeker family's alleged encounter with the paranormal in Southington, Connecticut. Ed and Lorraine Warren with guest John Zaffis discussed the case in depth on the Warren's cable TV show, "Seekers of the Supernatural". Photos from the haunting is also discussed. In 1988, the Warrens were called to investigate a home in Southington, Connecticut. Mrs. Snedicker, who lived in the home, explained that they were seeing ghosts and they were being attacked physically. The Snedickers moved into the area when their 15-year-old son had been diagnosed with cancer and needed to be closer to the hospital. When they initially rented the house, they were not told that it used to be a funeral home or that a lot of the embalming equipment was still in the basement. The Warrens brought in several paranormal investigators including John Zaffis. John described seeing ghost lights, hearing chain hoists, cold spots in rooms (this was in August), and phantomania. The Warrens suggest that reason for this haunting was necrophilia, the abuse of a dead body, by one or more itinerant embalmers. John Zaffis agreed with this conclusion. John heard a voice moaning, "You know what they did to me." The Catholic Church exorcised the house and although the priests themselves were attacked, the exorcism was successful. While the house was free of demons, the family still decided to move so that their children would not be harassed at school. This haunting was the subject of a book titled, "In a Dark Place" and a major motion picture, "The Haunting in Connecticut". Although presented in DVD format, the footage contained on this disc has been transferred from a VHS tape. As such, the quality of the footage has been reduced. We digitally restored the footage to all possible extents but noticeable quality issues may be noticed. Also, the lighting in the studio is not always perfect.

Maybe not the best but a good DVD

This is a DVD that is clearly home-made (read the product description as the limitations are accurately noted). BUT given its origin, I found it very interesting. Love the Warrens, loved IN A DARK PLACE (and if you have just seen the HAUNTING DVD, that is only part of the story), so what's not to love about this? Well, the quality leaves much to be desired, that is true. It really depends on whether you are a Warren fan which I am.
